ARSIS – Social Youth Support Organization and the “February 1st, 2022 – In the Name of Alkis” Association have entered into a Memorandum of Cooperation, establishing a permanent framework for joint actions. This partnership aims to prevent all forms of violence, empower children and youth, and foster a culture of safety, respect, and active civic participation.
This cooperation is developed within the operational framework of the Child and Adolescent Counseling Station of ARSIS. The Station provides comprehensive psychosocial support services to children, adolescents, and families, counseling for parents and educators, as well as prevention, awareness-raising, and empowerment initiatives for the local community.
Through tailored interventions, experiential workshops, educational programs, and awareness campaigns, the Counseling Station contributes significantly to the prevention of school and cyberbullying, youth delinquency, and all forms of violence. Concurrently, it enhances the life skills of children and adolescents, ensuring their safe and equitable participation in social life.
The “February 1st, 2022 – In the Name of Alkis” Association, established in memory of Alkis Kampanos, operates in the field of preventing and combating fan-related and youth violence. It develops educational, social, and athletic initiatives that promote respect, inclusion, solidarity, and peaceful coexistence. A major milestone of its work is the institutionalization of February 1st as National Fans’ Day (Government Gazette 5085/2024, Article 24), as well as the development, via the Institute of Educational Policy (IEP), of a skills-based primary education program titled “I, the Fan of Sports and Culture.”
Under the terms of this Memorandum, both entities pledge to develop joint initiatives, exchange expertise and best practices, design educational and social interventions, and implement information and awareness-raising campaigns, thereby contributing to the prevention of violence and the protection of the rights of children and adolescents.
The contracting parties recognize that the prevention of violence constitutes a collective responsibility and requires continuous cooperation among civil society stakeholders, the educational community, families, and youth themselves. Driven by a shared vision of an inclusive society free from discrimination, they seek to strengthen social cohesion, solidarity, and mutual respect.
The Child and Adolescent Counseling Station operates within the framework of the Center for the Prevention and Protection of Children and Adolescents of the Municipality of Thessaloniki, implemented in cooperation with “ARSIS – Social Youth Support Organization.”
The Project titled “Center for the Prevention and Protection of Children and Adolescents of the Municipality of Thessaloniki” (MIS Code 6018247) has been co-funded under the “Central Macedonia 2021–2027” Regional Programme, specifically under Priority “Promoting Social Cohesion in Central Macedonia – ESF+ Intervention,” and is co-financed by Greece and the European Union via the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+).
