Where and how to begin?
Where and how to begin when this happens on February 1st, exactly 2 years since what happened to us…
Since what happened to our child, to our brother, to our Alkis…?
Our Alkis, it fell upon you and your family to become the beacons and symbols of change that will illuminate, INSTITUTIONALLY NOW, this society and its children when, at the very least, every February 1st they learn about you and are taught empathy and coexistence (collaboration)…
Should we start from the beginning when 3 people communicated the transformation (sublimation) of their pain into action and visited the family only a few days after the murder, as complete strangers?
In the points we submitted in writing, at the very top of the list of actions for the 1st and 3rd pillars (axes), was our decision to fight for the State to designate:
February 1st as Panhellenic Fans’ Day.
We did not want a negative approach.
Should we start from the fact that on the evening of that same day, when we sought out and met other people to propose joining forces (enlistment) with this as-yet-unknown Structure, we were prepared to say, if asked, that we had about 25 people behind us… because we were ashamed to say we were only 3?
Something reminiscent of a tactic followed by another “society of friends” (Filiki Eteria) more than 2 centuries ago.
There are so many things from which we could begin (from the formal filing of our request to the Ministry of Culture in September 2022 to the positive recommendation sent to us by the competent department, from the continuous meetings with MPs to, to…).
Perhaps we will do so when we return to this later…
But for now, we will hold onto only the fact that, perhaps for the first time, an opposition amendment is accepted by the government in a climate of unanimity in Parliament.
OUR ALKIS, OUR CHILD, OUR BROTHER, you no longer unite only the grassroots of society, from which the Structure In Your Name emerged…
You unite THE ENTIRE GREEK SOCIETY horizontally and vertically.
